Henry Badgett, VFX Supervisor

This week's guest lecture was BueBolt's VFX Supervisor Henry Badgett. He has works on films such as Skyfall, Snow White and the Huntsman and currently working on BBC TV's Taboo, starring Tom Hardy. He shared with us some scenes from the tv show and how they made it and accomplished a victorian time in London. This is where I started doing some research into 3D and 2D set extension because they we he explained how they extended the set and the city of London was very clever and very effective, as Taboo actually looks if they were in the 19th century. One of the things he shared with us what how small the set was, it was no bigger than 1/4 of a football field or even smaller and the final scene looks as if there was a huge sea in front of them.

Also Henry talked to us the importance of doing historical research for projects like this and I think it always helps to make some research for whatever project you are doing. For example, for my Flatpack project I am making Norwich a huge city and it is always good to look how cities are built and if there is any particular order or even have some photographic reference to guide yourself while creating it.

Getting to know Henry Badgett was a great experience, personally. He showed us his work and you don't have to be working in a worldwide company to succeed in this industry.
