Meeting Josh Parks: Double Negative Compositor
I had the great opportunity to meet Josh Parks, a compositor from Double Negative. He showed us some of the movies he had work on such as: Guardians of The Galaxy, The Martian, Spectre, Jungle Book among others. He walked us through his challenges and how he has done to solve them. Also he gave us some advices on how to succeed in the industry:
Work Outside class. Make yourself different from the others.
Get feedback, as much as you can.
Start small, and clever and climb to the top.
Don't be a dick. Be polite.
Get a Mentor
Have a good work/life balance.
Josh gave a great talk and what I think is great from him is that he understands us as student. He graduated not that much ago and he is succeeding in the industry so having talks and lectures with him, inspire me to be better everyday. Never give up and always work harder.
