Cinema of Attraction and Trickfilm

The early cinema, where everything began. This was also known as cinema of attraction because this was the first visual entertainment. The objective of this was to make eye catch stuff without involving any writing. It was called Cinema of Attraction. This new movement was involving the audience, the directors and creators needed to find something to make that the audience would be interested, in my opinion, in that period of time anything will be eye catching because a movie was a new discovery for humanity and people never seen anything like that. For example in 1895, one of the first ever movies was a man smashing a wall.

As the time passed by, many people began to make movies. One of the pioneers of cinema are the "The Lumière brothers". They were the ones that invented the first movie projector, before that the movies were shown at a Kinetoscope (The one in the right). I think for people nowadays, this will be very interesting to watch a movie in a kinetoscope, because it's something we're not used to, I personally would love to have the opportunity to watch a movie in a kinetoscope but I think I would rather stay with the movie theater we now have.

After this great invention the Lumière brothers invented what we now know as a Movie Projector. This was the breakdown of the cinema, because they could show their movies to many people at once. With this new invention, they began to experiment with more movies and with angles and light. One of the most awesome films in that time was the scene in a train station. A bunch of people in the train station and you can see how the train was coming right into the screen, remember that in that time people were not used to that so this was a huge success for the Lumière brothers.

The Lumière brothers were the true inventor of the cinema as how we know it today. Without them who knows if the movie projector would have been invented, or if the cinema itself would have been invented. I think the Lumière brothers are a huge inspiration for filmmakers and they should alway need to be remember because without them, there will be no cinema.
